This one didn't come from a gift shop. It came from a packing house.

Valley Sun Citrus Co-Op operated out of Mission, Texas in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley — grapefruit country, where the season ran your calendar and the co-op ran the town. Shirts like this weren't sold. They were handed out. To growers, packers, seasonal workers. People who showed up before sunrise and didn't leave until the crates were loaded.

Somebody kept this one. Forty years later it came out of a liquidation off Bus. 83 along with a stack of harvest ledgers and a 1974 co-op newsletter nobody's read since Carter was president.
